UCI finalizes agreement for ViewRay MRI-Guided Radiotherapy System

The Department of Radiation Oncology at UCI has finalized an agreement with ViewRay, Inc. to bring the latest magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based linear accelerator to Irvine. The ViewRay device, which first gained FDA approval in 2014, offers the ability to treat hard-to-reach tumors with a high level of precision and accuracy. It is anticipated that clinical trials will be rolled out after this technology is implemented.
